Hiking the Long Trail: Hogback Road to Prospect Rock
This hike I did with the kids, Angie was at work and the day was too beautiful to pass up. When I started I decided to take a picture of the trail to show all of your non-Vermonters what you are missing. This hike's most important part was the fact that both Pennie and Isabell did not complain once. That was a miracle.
If you would like to experience this yourself just come up to Johnson, VT. You can reach the trail head here by taking Route 15 west out of the village and take a right onto Hogback Road after you pass Forget-Me-Not Shop and before you cross the bridge. Go little over a mile on Hogback and watch out for the people crossing signs. Once you reach the trail head you would want to put on the bug spray and go for it.
After you have enjoyed the view yourself you can come back down and before you go into your car to leave cross the road and have a run on the suspension bridge across the Lamoille River.
